Happy New Year everyone. With the new year comes new opportunities to hear me ramble on about landlord-tenant stuff. I will warn you right now, this entire blog post is going to be some shameless self-promotion.
As you may or may not be aware of, I do landlord-tenant classes and speaking engagements all over the state. I had promised myself to back off a little on that this year, but based on my current bookings, it is pretty clear that isn’t going to happen. If you have interest in catching Dr. Rent live, here is my current schedule of events.
MILWAUKEE – I will be the speaker at the Apartment Association of Southeast Wisconsin on Monday, January 17th. I will be presenting my “Top Ten Pitfalls to Avoid” seminar. This will be held at the Best Western at 1005 South Moorland Road in Brookfield starting around 7 PM. For more information, you can contact Paulette, the AASEW Executive Director (www.apartmentassoc.org).
BELOIT – The Beloit Property Management Association, in partnership with the Janesville Area Rental Property Association and the City of Beloit will be presenting the entire “100 Series” of classes, which is the basic educational program of the Wisconsin Apartment Association’s educational foundation (Rental Housing Resources). Although WAA 2011 President Dale Hicks is slotted to present these programs, he has asked me to be his back-up for the January classes, just in case. On Saturday, January 22nd, The Law and the Landlord 101 is being offered (which covers ATCP 134). On Saturday, January 29th, The Law and the Landlord 102 is being offered (which covers WI SS 704). These classes will run from 9 AM to 1 PM and be held at the Beloit Public Library.
WAUSAU – Every semester I offer classes through the continuing education program at UWMC, and my spring semester offerings are coming up here very quickly. Information on my class offerings, as well as all of the spring semester classes can be found at their website at http://www.marathon.uwc.edu/continuing_education/. I will again be offering four classes. All of the classes run from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM, three of the classes are one session long, the other has four sessions. Landlord’s 5 Most Asked Questions will be held on January 25th, Step by Step Guide to Evictions will be on February 1st, and Debt Collection Strategies will be offered on February 8th. My offerings end with Landlord-Tenant Law in Wisconsin, which will run for four weeks, from February 15th and ending on March 8th.
STEVENS POINT – On March 9th, I will be offering a class on Fair Housing / Discrimination to the Central Wisconsin Apartment Association (http://www.cwaaonline.org/) at the their normal meeting on March 9th. This will be held at the Sky Club, with the presentation starting around 7 PM.
WORLD WIDE WEB – Finally, the live-stream is up again. That means that no matter where you are in the state, in the country, even in the world… you can tune into the Dr. Rent Radio Show on Thursdays from 5 PM to 6 PM. In the Wausau area, you can still point your radio dials toward 93.3 FM. However, if you are not within the footprint of our 6 watt signal, you can point your internet browser toward http://220.127.116.11:88/listen.pls and you will be tuned it.
So… coming soon to a place or website near you…. Dr. Rent!!!
