A while back I had posted about some possible changes coming in the Wausau Building Codes. These changes including establishing a fee for re-inspections, no longer allowing non-operational vehicles (unless in a garage), and requiring out-of-county property owners to establish a “registered agent” within the county.
The concerns that I blogged about were also brought up at the hearing last month. The committee sent it back to the Property Inspector and City Attorney to try to address some of the concerns that I had brought up. It would then come back to the Public Health and Safety Committee one more time for final approval before they sent it on to the City Council. They want the council to pass these ordinance changes in November so that notices of these new laws can go out to property owners with the property tax bills.
I have been religiously watching the City’s website for that next Public Health and Safety Committee meeting.
I had to leave the office today shortly after 1 PM and one of the errands I was running was at City Hall, where I noticed a white sign that indicated that the PH&S meeting would be Monday, 11/16 at 5:15 PM. I stopped in at the Clerk’s office were all of the various notices are posted, and there it was, posted at 2:30 PM today, Friday, 11/13.
So, although the public hearing has already happened, if you are interested in hearing what the Public Health and Safety Committee has to say about this before it goes to council, Monday at 5:15 PM is the time, Wausau City Hall is the place.
